Use of NAWBO Member Information for Business Promotion
While marketing is an integral component of the success
of all business ventures, it has come to our attention some members
are soliciting business through the use of the NAWBO On-Line Directory.
Please note the following policy regarding any use of the NAWBO
Directory, in either its on-line or printed form:
This Directory shall be used for individual, personal and confidential
reference purposes only, and may be used only pursuant to the
terms of this license agreement. This Directory and the contents
hereof are proprietary products of NAWBO. The contents of the
directory may not, in whole or in part, be reproduced, copied,
disseminated, entered into a computer database, used as part of,
or in connection with, a mailing list, or otherwise utilized,
in any form or manner or by any means, except for the user's individual,
personal and confidential reference.
We understand the complexity of this sensitive topic
as it relates to your membership in NAWBO. We request that all members
follow the policy as listed above. Not only are we concerned about
protecting the rights and privacy of our members, we are concerned
that members who have elected to use the directory to send out e-mails
for the purposes of business solicitation are compliant with the
CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. Individuals who are not compliant with this
act can be fined up to $11,000 per violation. For more information
on the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 please go to http://www.spamlaws.com/federal/108s877.html.
