of
V.L.M.Design, Inc.
Company's
mission: To improve interiors and environments for all my clients.
Products
and/or services:
Designer fabrics, furniture, floor coverings, but more importantly 27 years of experience in a job I thoroughly enjoy. We target
projects needing to spend $10,000 or more, but will do simple consultations.
When and
why did you join NAWBO?
I joined in June 2006
because I was so motivated by the Leadership Exchange I attended in Dallas.
Committee
involvement: Not yet.
Impact
NAWBO has had on your business or professional development: I now have a web site, and I like networking with other professional women.
The best advice you've received:
Each week in the benediction at FUMC in Fort Worth we close with “Let us go out to be God’s people in the world”.
Advice or strategies: Stay focused, positive, and professional at all times.
What
brings you joy in your work? When the end result is more than the client expected.
What brings
you joy in your personal life? Or What are your interests/hobbies? My children, my parents, my friends, and my beliefs all bring me great joy. I love tennis, gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends.
Charity support:“Cowtown Ball” for the American Cancer Society, Women’s Haven, Aids Serenity House.
Other organizations:
TAID, Reg.TX Bd. Of Arch. Examiners, USTA tennis, Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae.
Book recommendations: The two books I recommend most are “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, and “Dinner with the Perfect Stranger” by David Gregory.
What else would you like your
NAWBO chapter and members to know about you? I am very professional, I enjoy my work, but more importantly I enjoy my life.
