Products
and/or services:
Venturity Financial Partners is a professional services firm providing entrepreneurial, growing companies with a full spectrum of financial and transaction processing services on an outsourced, fixed-fee basis.
Target market: Companies with revenues of $1-20 million (5-50 employees). The Company serves a variety of industries including manufacturing and distribution, retail and restaurant, professional services and non-profit organizations.
When and
why did you join NAWBO?
I joined in March 2006
to increase my support and commitment to women-owned businesses. I have been attending NAWBO events for the past two years as a guest, representing Venturity. As one of the first to join under the new Supporting Member category, I am eager to increase my level of support through participation in one of NAWBO’s committees.
Committee
involvement: ? I am planning to join the Membership Committee so that I can focus my efforts on recruiting other Supporting Members that will take an active role in helping to fulfill NAWBO’s mission.
Impact
NAWBO has had on your business or professional development: Even with my limited involvement with NAWBO over the last two years, I was able to network and develop several meaningful relationships with members and corporate sponsors that have brought opportunities to Venturity. In addition to new clients, NAWBO has been a great referral source for information and services that Venturity has utilized, as we continue to grow and set direction for our own organization.
The best advice you've received:
The best advice that I received early on in my career from a well-respected mentor was that honesty and a straight forward approach to business is key to developing long-lasting business relationships.
Advice or strategies:
Keep it in perspective –- Advice I am constantly reminding myself of as I try to maintain a degree of balance between work and family commitments.
What
brings you joy in your work? A satisfied client.
What brings
you joy in your personal life? Or What are your interests/hobbies? My husband of twelve years, our three young and energetic children and our four year old white Lab, Cinco. I am pretty committed at this point in my life to my family’s interests and hobbies (i.e., youth sporting events, gymnastics, dance), but when I can break away and find personal time for myself I enjoy cooking and a good book.
Charity support: I volunteer when I can with a couple of different non-profit organizations and as a family we participate in fundraising events throughout the year.
Other organizations:
I am currently involved with the Women’s Finance Exchange and the Finance Forum.
Book recommendations:
I am currently remodeling my home and have taken a short sabbatical from reading to focus on getting this project done!
What else would you like your
NAWBO chapter and members to know about you? I feel truly blessed that I have been able to find a career with a company that has allowed me to meet and develop relationships with people that have touched me on both a professional and personal level.
