When and why did you join NAWBO? I joined NAWBO in March 2005 because the organization is focused on assisting women business owners. I believe I can learn a lot from the women who are involved in the organization and that it will make me a better business owner.

Committee involvement: I have not joined any committees, but I plan to very soon.

Impact has NAWBO had on your business or professional development: As a new member, I haven't had the opportunity to really get to know very many other members; however, I look forward to it and do believe it will benefit my professional development.

The best advice you've received: In order to be happy in your career, you have to be happy in your personal life first and vice versa. The key is to find your fit in both. I received this advice from Leon Kaplan, my first boss when I entered the printing industry.

Advice or strategies: My advice would be to work with people you enjoy—both customers and employees.

What brings you joy in your work? Helping others achieve their goals that in turn helps me achieve mine.

What brings you joy in your personal life? Or What are your interests/hobbies? Helping others achieve their goals that in turn helps me achieve mine when they help me in return. My work and personal lives are very much entwined. I also enjoy spending time with my son, reading, and spending time with my friends and family members.

Charity support: Gorman Foy supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club. Gorman Foy provides them with printing and promotional products to market their event. It is a great organization that needs the support to enrich the lives of those diagnosed.

Other organizations: None presently.

What else would you like your NAWBO peers to know about you: I am happy to help each of you in any way that I can.

Book recommendations: None specifically, though I do like the books Jeffrey Gitomer has written and most of the ones he recommends. Most are sales or customer service oriented.
