Why did you join NAWBO? To expand my centers of influence. Working with other successful women business owners to build strategic alliances, coalitions & affiliations.

When did you join NAWBO? 2004

What impact has NAWBO had on your business or professional development? Associating with other successful women business owners by being actively involved with NAWBO will provide me the opportunity to continue to grow professionally.

What brings you joy in your work? In a society where most people don’t exactly understand or like insurance and believe it is a necessary evil. I get great pleasure from educating people about how to protect themselves and their businesses from unknown financial loss.

What brings you joy in your personal life? Or What are your interests/hobbies? My children are my joy. I have a 9-year-old daughter Jessica, a 3-year-old son Daniel and 2 “bonus” children Whitney and Cody. I love to spend time with my children and my family. We enjoy cycling, camping and swimming. I enjoy crafts, sewing and quilting.

Do you support any charities? In what ways? Why? My business and I support many charities. 1. Diabetes Institute Foundation - they are dedicated in finding a cure for diabetes. My son and I are both Type 1 Diabetes. This is a terrible disease and I want a cure so my son does not have to live his life with diabetes. 2. Flower Mound Rotary Club – I am past President for two terms - Rotary is a great civic organization involved in local and international. I love making a difference in lives in my community as well as in other countries. 3. YMCA – board member- I believe in the YMCA. They help so many children. I love children and believe they all should have the opportunity to play sports and attend camps and the YMCA helps make this possible. 4. Lewisville Education Foundation – Board Liaison – This organization raises money to give scholarships to graduating seniors in the school district. It is a great way to help students with getting their future started by attending college.

What else would you like your NAWBO Members to know about you? The Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce recognized my community service by awarding me with the “Citizen of the Year” award.

What other organizations are you involved with? Board Trustee for Lewisville Independent School District, Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce – I will be Chair of the Board 1/2005, Lewisville Chamber of Commerce
