NAWBO D/FW Members Tap Corporate Brain Trust

Attendees at our Annual Corporate Partner Appreciation lunch on March 14, 2005 took advantage of a rare opportunity—the opportunity to access our corporate brain trust to discuss immediate and urgent questions for their current business issues. Such issues as: "How do I finance business growth?", "How can I protect my business from risk?", "How do I protect intellectual property?," "How should I plan the exit strategy for my business?" and "What should I consider in visually representing my business?" were answered in a small group setting through five rotating panels.

Both Corporate Partner representatives and NAWBO/DFW members voiced their appreciation and enthusiasm for the format and for the opportunity to interact on these topics. We plan to follow a similar theme for next year’s event.

We had several new resources this year including a Corporate Partner Directory (download now) and a video talking about how Women Mean Business in Dallas/Fort Worth (view video now). Both are available for free online at www.nawbotx.org, where you can also view digital photos from the event.

Many thanks to our Corporate Partners panel members for sharing both their knowledge and their time:
Allied Capital – Tina Terry
Amegy Bank – Tracey Huff
Bank of America – Jeanette Codner
BellGroup Insurance – Victoria Stansell
Chase – Julie Meyer
Comerica – Desiree Markle
Haynes and Boone – Jan Sharry
Jackson Walker – Sara Wiley
Marty Perlman Studios – Marty Perlman
Principal Financial – Sean O’Brien
Women’s Enterprise – Vicki St. Denis
Wachovia – Suzanna Cabellero

Our other corporate partners also were represented at the luncheon but did not participate on the panels: Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club, Lane Gorman Trubitt, and TXU.

Thanks also to the NAWBO members who served as facilitators for the panels: Wendy Lopez, Susie Morrissey, Jodie Hodak, Cyndy Montgomery, and Valerie Warm-Pelan.

The event was a production of the Corporate Partner Committee under the leadership of Billie Day. NAWBO members on the committee were Norah Marr and Valerie Warm-Pelan.
