April 2004 - Did you know that 10.6
million private U.S. companies (nearly half) are majority-owned
by women? Or that Texas is ranked second in the top 10 states for
women-owned businesses? According to a study by the Center for Women’s
Business Research only California ranks above Texas for women entrepreneurs.
Florida, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North
Carolina and Washington round out the top 10 states for woman-owned
businesses.
